BMUS 2016 Oral presentation –  Women’s experiences of third trimester ultrasound, its influence on pregnancy and birth experiences – A qualitative study.

I am a Midwife Sonographer with 40 years’ experience working in the NHS. For the last 20 years I have specialised in Obstetric sonography and antenatal screening. I worked at the Rosie in Cambridge for 15 years, before recently retiring.  Pregnancy and birth are one of the biggest events in life and my aim is to provide a high quality professional ultrasound service to women and their families, which enhance their experience. My MPhil Thesis focused on examining women’s experiences of  ultrasound in the third trimester and how this impacts on the pregnancy and birth experience.

I keep myself updated with the latest developments in Obstetrics and screening,  attending conference and training on a regular basis.
