Early Pregnancy Scan

EARLY PREGNANCY REASSURANCE SCAN ( > 5 to 10 weeks)

Trans-abdominal and trans-vaginal scans to identify the location of your pregnancy and the number of fetuses. From 5+3 weeks, ectopic pregnancy can be excluded. From 6± weeks, fetal heartbeat can be detected.

This is also to assess the ovaries for the presence of any ovarian pathologies or presence of adnexal masses, fibroids and identify any possible causes of bleeding.

DATING SCAN
(11-13 week)

This can be transabdominal and transvaginal scans to determine the fetal heartbeat,structural development ,estimate the date of delivery and identify the number of fetuses present. It could be twins!

Early Fetal Anomaly Scan + Uterine Artery Doppler Studies( 14-17 weeks)

This scan is used to exclude early fetal structural abnormalities mainly brain, heart, kidneys, bladder, abdominal wall, spine, and limbs. Fetal sex can also be determined at this stage when desired. This can also screen for early indication for intrauterine growth restriction or pre-eclempsia. Early detection of abnormalities allows time for further tests and options to be decided at an early stage of pregnancy. Early Fetal Scan does not replace screening tests like NIPT, CVS, amniocentesis, or the routine 20 weeks anomaly scan.

Detailed Anomaly Scan (18-23 weeks)

This scan assesses fetal growth and screens for structural abnormalities, the placental site, amount of amniotic fluid, and fetal movements.

Uterine artery Doppler study and cervical lenght are incluned.

Fetal Growth, Placental Localisation, Amniotic Fluid and Doppler Studies
(24-40+ weeks)

This scan is used to assess the fetal growth velocity ,amount of amniotic fluid, position and movements of your baby, location of the placenta and Doppler Studies of the umbilical , mid-cerebral and uterine arteries.

Trans-vaginal scan is included for (+/-) Cervical length or assessment of the leading edge of the placenta to exclude placenta previa and vasa previa.

On the same day of your scan

Our Sonographer will provide the report of your scan and send it to you via email along with the ultrasound images and videos clips.
